Another factor contributing to health problems is the pollution of our water, food and air. Although the water and air is polluted world-wide, the American food supply contains more chemicals than most other countries. This could be why the United States ranks 29th in life expectancy. We are on the bottom of the list of industrial nations despite the fact Americans consume 50% of all drugs prescribed in the world. There are 82,000 chemicals that we come into contact with each week.
To defend against these chemicals, our body surrounds them in fat where they are stored. As a result we gain weight, feel fatigued, can’t focus and are more susceptible to a host of other health problems.
